Description of Holidays
All Saints’ Day – It is a celebration of all Christian saints, particularly those who have no special feast days of their own, in many Roman Catholic, Anglican and Protestant churches.
All Souls’ Day – It is a day of prayer for the dead, particularly but not exclusively one’s relatives.
Maulid un-Nabi – The Prophet Muhammad’s birthday.
Lailatul Isra Wal Mi Raj – Nocturnal journey and ascension of the prophet Muhammad.
Eidul-Fitar – It is the first day of the Islamic month of Shawwal. It is the end of Ramadan, which is a month of fasting and prayer. Many Muslims attend communal prayers, listen to a khutba (sermon) and give zakat al-fitr (charity in the form of food) during Eid al-Fitr.
Amun Jadid – It is one of the Muslim Holidays which codified Muslim family laws and practices.
